I kind of want to gauge what interest would be in commissions.  Honestly, I really want to save up for a some more hardware that I can use to draw digitally easier.  I love my Intuos, but get frustrated drawing cause I can't look down when i draw or ink digitally.  Of course getting a tablet would require the coinage.  So... if I decided to open up commissions, would anyone be interested?

Sup y'all,

Long time no talk.  Though I'm sure most of you see this is as virtually a dead... non existent account, I assure you I am still around! I really should post more and planning on doing so soon.  Probably more graphic design related things and maybe some random extra stuff.  However, this is not what this post is about!

To put it simply (as the title implies) Shadowjacked is going to Smackjeeves!  I am currently in the midst of pulling a 1 day a week update of the old stuff.  I am doing it for a few reasons.  Firstly, I'm still working on creating several comics in advance (preferably the entire issue).  Hopefully by creating enough of these I'll be able to keep a steady update stream going when the new content hits, which will be 2 days a week.  The other reason is re-introduction.  While not masterpieces by any means, this will kind of give people the chance to re-catch up or for the first time see the characters.  It will also give everybody a chance to watch the entire series' artistic evolution, which is pretty significant (heck sorta blurry pencil drawing to fully colored page comics!).

Anyways, check out the new place at shadowjacked.smackjeeves.com.  I'll still be posting stuff like concept art, character sketches and whatnot on a fairly consistent basis (starting soon!) and hopefully before long this gravy train will be back in full swing!!!!

So... that's it!  Let's get 2015 going right... even if its been 3 months into the year! lol.

So... the 96th issue of Shadowjacked actually serves two roles!  First, it kind of serves as a conclusion to the previous arch involving my characters official move to college.  But it also serves as a transition for the comic.

For those that are aware (albeit probably few).  Shadowjacked at one point became an experiment.  The point being to tell two different stories in one comic.  One following the real world with me interacting with the characters that I created, and one following the events of the comic those character inhabited.  I tried to showcase the difference between the two worlds based on how the strip was created and who was in it.  If the comic was built like a Sunday strip and featured myself, then we were in the real world.  however, if it was build more like a page the world was that of the comic.

Now, in theory this would be great.... except for two small problems.  The first is storyline issues.  It is very difficult to maintain a story for one side and then jump to the other side.  I noticed this almost immediately, when I decided it was time to jump back into the comic world itself (which is coming next comic btw).  Most likely, very few people will have remembered what occurred the last time, and as such, would more than likely be confused when it jumps into a new story.  Now, I've figured a remedy to this, but it is not something I would want to do each time I jumped back and forth between the two comics.

The other issue that affected this was the update time. Having as eclectic of an update schedule as I've had, the flip flop the confusion would have to be even greater.  Considering the last time I jumped into the comic world was actually 2 years ago... it makes for a difficult transition.

So... that gets me back to the second role for Shadowjacked 96.  On top of serving as the conclusion to the previous arch, it also serves as the launch of a comic split with this comic ALSO being "Beyond Shadowjacked #1.

From this point forward, the two worlds will stay seperate and there will be two comics.  Shadowjacked and Beyond Shadowjacked.  BSJ will be more of a weekly effort (hopefully), it which I tell the side of my character trying to make it through life while dealing with his creations that have come to life.  That will be presented in black and white.  It is a little quicker (as coloring can take a while), and I can focus on different things with it.

Shadowjacked will be presented in an issue by issue capacity.  This means I will be creating each issue in its entirety before I post it.  When they are released they will be done three days a week.  In between each issue, I will post up character concepts, or notes or (if possible) guest art from those willing to contribute to it.

I really have a story to Shadowjacked I want to tell.  And up till now it's kinda been all over the place.  That is going to change and I hope you all enjoy the ride :).

Till then enjoy BJS1/SJ96 and have a good week.

Man has it been busy.  Lately,  I've been working on all sorts of random things.

To start, I did a commercial this year for doritos Crash the Superbowl.  While I don't think it will win, I do feel like it was one of my best commercials so far.  Immediately following that, I began helping film a different thing (which is still going on).  Finally last week, the team I work with took part in a 48hr film competition.  It was a very intense process, but we managed to rock it and get it done! Needless to say with all the film work I had been doing, it's left me with very little time to work on the comic.  I also ran out of buffer... which is why the last cple weeks there have been no updates.

Finally, I've been working on a sick new logo for the comic, as well as SJ studios overall. Once I get it done, I'll be posting it up as well.

That said, I am picking up pretty quick again.  There should be a new comic up later this week, and, if i can keep my schedule up, it should continue into the foreseeable future.  I still plan on doing my film stuff as to which I will eventually be posting links up here and on the FB page which can be liked www.facebook.com/pages/Shadowj…;

anyways, bout it to talk about atm.  gonna find out soon who the semifinalists are )about 6 or so hours from this writing.

Take care!

Goodbye for now

1 min read
I'm sure those of you who follow the comic noticed there was no update this week.  It's not because it isn't done, but rather than I decided to postpone until November 8th.  The reason for this is because I am going out of town (will be heading to the airport shortly after this post actually) and not really have an internet connection until I get back.

Since I was gonna be gone till then , I figured I would hold off on the new comic because I don't want the storyline to be stalled at that point.  So... instead, when i get back we'll just jump right in and pick up where we left off.  It will be a fun ride though and it's setting up for an even bigger story that I can't wait to tell.

but until then... gotta hold off.  Thanks for your patience and I'll see y'all when I get back!
