Look ma I'm updating my journal!

For those of you whom actually regularly keep yourself updated with my work (i know its probably not much but hey... I don't exactly promote myself all that well), I do these occasional things known as Midnight Madness.

Simply put, Midnight Madness is a series of random sketches I do at... well the midnight hour. They tend to take me no more than an hour to do at max and it's whatever comes to my mind at the time.

Now... I've been thinking of ways to expand upon the concept as far as what to draw. So for now, I've decided to take Midnight Madness requests. Basically I'll do whatever, so long as it's simple (like no huge artworks that require unparalleled depth and such). Anyways, this is if anyone is interested in pitching ideas, post em hear or send me a note. As I create the sketches, and post them, you will be credited for the idea.

Just to give a little kinda belated update. I'm currently out of town so I won't be updating the comic until next friday. That said, that I have also postponed the 5 best cartoons contest until then as well. For info on the contest You can check the journal link below.

Shadowjacked Journal

Ok, Over the course of the next 5 weeks, I have decided to compile a list of what I consider to be the 5 best Animated Cartoon Series' of all time (from my perspective anyways).

During each week, I will give a cartoon, explain why I've placed it there and so forth. I will also be providing features from various artists here on DA.

However, I also would like to get people involved as well. So... here is what I'm going to do. Starting next week, I will be holding a contest every single week until all Five Cartoon Series' have been named.

All you have to do, is create a piece of art that is tied to said cartoon series.

From there, I will award 3 winners for each week (this of course assumes people decide to enter).

The Prizes:

1st Prize: 3 month feature in my journal. I will also color a piece of art or/ "Shadowjack" a character for ya if you'd like.

2nd Prize: 1 Month Feature in my Journal. I will also "Shadowjack" a character for ya if you'd like.

3rd Prize: 1 week Journal Feature. I will also "Shadowjack" a character for ya if you'd like.


"Shadowjack" = Stylizing a character into the style/world of Shadey the Shadow Vampire.


Also, at the very end of the competition, I will select a grand prize winner. The Grand Prize Winner will also have their character appear in an strip of Shadey the Shadow Vampire.

Hopefully, this competition will pick up and be a success. And hopefully, it'll spark some good old fashion creative fun.

Also, if anyone is interested in judging the competition entries note me. And I'll add ya as a judge. I would like to have 3 (including myself) if possible.

And of course, if people can spread the word about this competition it'll definitely help out a lot If anyone has any good suggestion on helping get this thing noticed more, I'm all ears

On a final note, if there is a series out there that you might think I should consider, by all means either leave a comment or a send a note. I'll be more than happy to look at it.

Shadowjacked Journal

I always forget how long it takes to do color the comics. Luckily, I've managed to stay on target with my schedule so far. It would be much easier if I had stayed black and white, but I also understand that the coloring style is possibly what sets my comic apart from others that might be seen. I dunno... At any rate it can take forever to do...

Well... if i wasn't lazy sometimes, I probably wouldn't as much of an issue either hehe.

Anyways, this just popped into my mind while i was coloring this weeks strip. So this bears in question. From an artistic standpoint, what draws you to a comic?

In other news.... Shadey the Shadow Vampire has had his first official update since my last leave of absence. As I said in my previous journal, the series would be continuing on a regular basis starting this friday. Once a week

Once I figure out how to make my journal look super cool... it's gonna be pimped out. Until then though... this is how it'll look for now.
